I received upper and lower implant dentures in August 2024. The denture teeth are too big, and my bite is off. Since I got the final teeth, I have lost 30 pounds because eating is so uncomfortable. It’s hard to chew and swallow. My friends and family think I am sick because of my weight loss. After many visits to my dentist, he has repeatedly told me there is no problem with my bite. Once he adjusted the denture teeth because I insisted that he do something. I have wasted my money on the implant dentures. I know I won’t get a refund from my dentist without a lawsuit. I am too exhausted for that, but I must do something because I don’t eat well anymore. What are my options? Thanks. Tyson from Milwaukee
Tyson,

Get a second opinion if your implant denture doesn’t fit well.
We recommend getting a second opinion from a dentist with post-graduate implant training and extensive experience in dental implants.
A dentist with expertise will complete an exam and diagnostic studies to determine whether your dentist did something wrong. The new dentist may be willing to contact your former dentist on your behalf to see whether he will refund you or contribute toward your new implant denture.
If your dentist is at fault but uncooperative, consider reporting the issue to the Wisconsin Dental Board.
