Creativity is one of the things that makes humans special among all the species of life on Earth. We have used our creativity to do amazing things.
We’ve created magnificent pieces of art. We’ve built impressive architectural structures, and we have developed ingenious tools to make our lives easier.
You can put that creativity to use for yourself, too. One example of that is the cosmetic dentistry that we offer at Bayou Dental Group.
No matter what your teeth look like now, we have services that can transform your smile through what we call smile creation. If you want your smile to look different, make plans for a consultation with our dentist in Monroe, LA, to find out how we can help make that happen.
In some ways, skilled cosmetic dentists are like master craftsmen and craftswomen. Some are better than others at what they do.
In dentistry, one way to know if your dentist has a particular set of skills is to look at examples of his or her work. You can see some examples for yourself in our smile gallery.
Another way to gauge a dentist’s skill is recognition from his or her peers.
Our own Dr. Finley is an accredited fellow with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). You may be wondering what this means?
First, it means he has passed an examination demonstration his knowledge of various cosmetic techniques. It means he has presented examples of patients that he has helped. And just as important, he has demonstrated his ability to identify problems and solutions for those problems through oral examinations.
That in and of itself should give you an idea what Dr. Finley’s think of his abilities, but there is something else you should know. Dr. Finley won the AACD’s smile gallery competition five years in a row. This puts him in rare company.
But that’s good news for anyone who live in or near Monroe, LA. You have an office nearby with one of the best cosmetic dentists in the country.
How We Can Help
The smile creation process starts with you.
If you would like to change something about your smile, then you need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Finley.
During your visit, he will talk to you about the specific things that you may not like about your teeth and how you would like them to be different. It’s important to us that you are involved in the process. This is your smile. We are just helping to give you the one that you want.
To accomplish this, we won’t just look at your teeth. We use all the tools we have available from digital X-rays to our cone beam scanner, which helps us generate a three-dimensional model of your teeth.
We can create a wax model so you will have a good idea what your smile will look like at the end of the process. Before you commit to the process, you should know what to expect at the end.
Your Smile Can Change
Depending on your needs, we may use one or more cosmetic procedure to help you achieve the smile that you want to see.
For instance, you may have teeth that are visibly worn down. Certain habits like holding things with your teeth, opening things with your teeth, and biting your fingernails can cause teeth to wear down more quickly.
We may be able to correct this with dental bonding, which is applying a composite resin to your teeth to reform their shape. We may need to make a dental crown if a tooth is severely worn down, or we may recommend veneers if several teeth need to be repaired.
If you are missing teeth, then dental bridges could be used to remake your smile. You could get a traditional bridge, or you could get an implant-supported bridge for maximum strength, stability, and durability.
Discoloration can make otherwise healthy teeth look quite different. This may be something we can change with teeth whitening or with veneers. The right procedure for you may depend on what other changes you want to make and the cause of your discoloration.
Your vision for your smile is the driving force behind the decisions that we make. It’s important to Dr. Finley that you are involved in every step of the process at Bayou Dental Group.
After all, it’s your smile we are creating together at our dentist office in Monroe, LA. You can call [phone] or use our online form to contact us if you would like to know more about our smile creation process.
