Dr. Finley and our Monroe, LA dental office are proud to bring all of the benefits of modern dentistry to our patients. By investing in the latest technology and studying the latest techniques, Dr. Finley is able to reduce recovery times, increase accuracy, and decrease discomfort.
This is especially relevant for patients who suffer from dental anxiety. If you haven’t been to the dentist in awhile, you will be surprised by how advancements in dentistry have made patient comfort more ubiquitous. If you still feel a little nervous about your visit, we do offer sedation options.

Same-Day CEREC Crowns
CEREC crowns allow us to make your dental crown while you wait. You might need a dental crown if:
- You have a cavity too large for a filling
- You need a dental implant restored
- You have a tooth that has been compromised structurally
- You have a misshapen tooth you want to correct
- You need to support a dental bridge
A dental crown covers or replaces a tooth. It’s designed to look exactly like your natural tooth. With CEREC technology we can make your dental crown chairside. Your crown will be made to match the shade of your smile and will comfortably fit in your mouth. No adjusting and re-adjusting a dental crown brought in by an outside manufacturer. We can also do onlays, or partial crowns.
Concerned about radiation exposure? Digital X-rays expose patients to 90% less radiation than older X-ray machines that still use film. You should discuss with Dr. Finley how often you need to have your digital X-rays updated. If your teeth and gums are healthy, you may only need to have them done every couple years or every year. If you’re dealing with dental health issues, you may need X-rays more frequently.
X-rays can help Dr. Finley get a read on what’s going on with your teeth beneath the surface, and sometimes they are the only way to know for sure if there’s an issue with your smile.
DIAGNOdent Cavity Scanner
At Bayou Dental Group we take it a step further than a visual cavity check. We use the FDA-approved laser cavity scanner, DIAGNOdent. DIAGNOdent allows Dr. Finley to catch your cavities at an earlier stage because the scanner is able to catch cavities that are developing beneath the surface of your teeth. The sooner we detect a cavity, the easier it is to treat.
A small cavity can be corrected with Esthet-X HD. Esthet-X HD is a strong, natural looking composite Dr. Finley uses for tooth-colored fillings. You no longer have to worry about silver fillings giving you a “flashy” smile.
Cone Beam Imaging (3-D Scan)
Cone beam imaging makes it possible for Dr. Finley to more accurately assess whether or not you’re a good candidate for dental implants. Dental implants are rooted in your jawbone similar to your natural teeth. This creates a secure hold that can last a lifetime with proper care. However, tooth loss can cause your jawbone to diminish.
So, Dr. Finley uses cone beam imaging to check the density of your jawbone and decide whether or not it’s robust enough to support a dental implant. The sooner you come in for a dental implant after the loss of a tooth, the sooner we can stop or at least slow down any bone loss.
We like to use an intraoral camera to take images of the inside of your mouth during your consultation for treatment. These 3-D images allow us to create a more accurate treatment plan for your dental needs.
Dr. Finley combines many of these technologies for his cutting-edge smile creation treatment. As a highly experienced cosmetic dentist, Dr. Finley is able to take into consideration many different variables to give you a smile that matches your smile goals.
