Choosing who to trust with our health is one of our most important decisions. Bayou Life Magazine released their 2nd Annual Top Doctors issue to help with just that. <\/span><\/p>\n

They compile a list by sending out over 1,500 letters to medical professionals\u2019 offices in Northeast Louisiana and ask who they would recommend in a particular category. The list consists of the top nutritionist, occupational therapists, radiologist, speech therapist and the top dentist, Dr David Finley.<\/span><\/p>\n

The article does a dive into Dr. Finley\u2019s background and why he loves to be a dentist. Since he was young he enjoyed watching his uncle at work as a dentist. That’s why after receiving his bachelor of science from University of Louisiana at Monroe he attended LSU New Orleans School of Dentistry. There, he received his degree as a doctor of dental surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Finley has alway loved Monroe and it\u2019s people. He has lived here since he was in fourth grade. One of his favorite things about being a dentist is building those trusting relationships with his patients. Something he loves to hear is when someone tells him that they hated going to the dentist but not when they come see him.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the people are a big draw, there are a lot of things he loves about his job. Another thing that stands out to him is that he gets to be a lifelong learner. There are always new things to learn about and experiences to have. A goal of his, and something he always strives for, is to learn as much as he can about his work.<\/span><\/p>\n

The article quotes Dr. Finley saying, \u201c…I love the true complexity of dentistry and solving the puzzle. And of course, I love cosmetics and helping patients smile. Creating smiles lets me use my artistic eye, my hands, my knowledge, and my heart to help a patient.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He has a list of professional achievements including Accredited Fellow- American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Monroe Chamber of Commerce- 2016 Thomas H. Scott Spirit of Excellence Award, Fellow- Academy of General Dentistry, winner of nine medals in the AACD annual Smile Gallery Competition and now, voted Top Dentist by peers.<\/span><\/p>\n
