Wedding season has arrived. If you will be marrying the love of your life this year, congratulations.

Whether you are having a grand ceremony or a small one, we wish you and your sweetheart a lifetime of happiness. If you are like most people, you will have lots photos taken on your big day.

Many people go all out to look their best for their wedding. Some people make exercise and diet a bigger priority leading up to the ceremony. Make-up and hair are planned months in advance, even what you will wear can be a big decision.

To complete your look, you will want a bright, white smile to match. This is an area where Bayou Dental Care can help. Just call us to learn more about professional teeth whitening at our dentist office in Monroe, LA.

Don’t Take Chances

Your wedding day is the start of your new life together as husband and wife. With all the time, effort, and money you put into looking your best on this special day, you expect everything to look as nice as possible.

Don’t treat your smile any differently.

We know it might be tempting to take home one of the many over-the-counter whitening products. They seem simple enough.

Unfortunately, many of them can only whiten your teeth by one shade. Even the best commercial whitening products may only whiten your teeth by a few shades.

Is that all the whiter you want your teeth to be?

Think about it for a moment. Would you do your own hair on your wedding day? Probably not, so why would you try to whiten your own teeth when you could have professional help.

Zoom! Whitening

At Bayou Dental Group, we offer Zoom! whitening products for our patients.

Zoom! is one of the most effective brands on the market, and it’s one of the fastest, too. If you want your teeth whitened and you are running out of time to make that happen, Zoom! lives up to its name.

If you make an in-office whitening appointment, you could walk out with a visibly whiter smile in about an hour.

During our in-office treatments, you will be able to watch television or listen to your favorite music as the process is taking place.

We recommend starting with a thorough dental cleaning before we begin the whitening process.

After the cleaning, we will cover your lips and gums. Then, we will apply the Zoom! gel to your teeth. We will expose your teeth to a special light when everything is ready.

Your teeth will be exposed to the light for 15 minutes at a time. We will repeat this process three times during your visit. After the third round, we will apply a fluoride gel or paste to your teeth to reduce sensitivity (which is a common issue with teeth whitening).

Once your teeth have been whitened, we will review what you can do — including what food and drinks to avoid — to maintain your brighter, whiter smile until your wedding day (and beyond).

What Whitening Does

We know that it’s common for teeth to turn yellower with time. You should not expect the same level of whiteness in your teeth when you are 40 that you had when you were 20 … unless you make extra efforts to restore the whiteness of your smile.

As we get older, our teeth naturally change colors. Almost every food that we eat and most things that we drink can leave behind small particles of residue that cause our teeth to change colors. Over time, enough of this residue accumulates so that our teeth start to lose that “pearly white” appearance.

Coffee, tea, soft drink, sports drink, or wine — pretty much anything that can stain your clothing can stain your teeth, too. Tobacco use is another way you may speed up the yellowing process.

You Deserve A Great Smile

Your wedding should be one of the most important days of your life. When you capture it in pictures, you want and deserve to look your best. That should include your smile.
