Some of you may remember Bob Ross. He had a show called The Joy Of Painting.
As part of the show, he often narrated what he was doing, often speaking of painting “happy little trees.”
He could imagine a landscape and make it come to life on his canvas.
What if you applied that same kind of creativity to your smile? What would you want your smile to look like? What would you want to change?
One of the many things we do at Bayou Dental Group is what we call smile creation. If you can imagine your teeth looking different, then we can help make that a reality in our dentist office, right here in Monroe, LA.
We Want You To Be Happy
“Look around. Look at what we have,” Ross said during one episode of his program. “Beauty is everywhere — you only have to look to see it.”
Where do you see beauty?
One of the places we see beauty is in the smiles of our patients. When people smile, it does more than just reveal their teeth.
A genuine smile seems to transform a person’s entire face. His or her eyes seem to sparkle, and the person smiling seems more confident and comfortable.
Unfortunately, not all of our patients feel this way. Some people almost seem distressed by their teeth.
This can make them seem bashful, and many are reluctant to smile. This makes us sad, too.
We don’t think anyone should feel humiliated by their teeth.
Talk To Us
No matter what you would like to change about your smile. We can help. Our team has been helping people for decades.
And we know how to give you the smile that you want to see in the mirror every morning.
Our dentist, Dr. Finley, is an Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. To attain this distinction, dentists must submit 50 examples of work they have done for patients.
Those 50 examples must include examples of what are called indirect and direct cases. These must include examples of specified procedures so the dentist can demonstrate his or her mastery of a variety of cosmetic treatments.
Those submissions are evaluated by a panel. Only the most qualified dentists are awarded the rank of Accredited Fellow.
When you come to our office, Dr. Finley will talk to you about what you would like to change.
Our evaluation procedure involves the use of the latest technology. We use digital X-rays, cone bone radiography, and intraoral cameras to get a complete assessment of your teeth and their supporting structures.
With this comprehensive understanding, we will help you make a plan to transform your smile.
“The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do,” Bob Ross said. “Anything. As long as you believe.”
We believe that is true about cosmetic dentistry, which when you think about it is really “smile dentistry.” When people want to fix their teeth, it’s usually because they want to improve their smiles.
Fortunately, there are a lot of ways we can do that. Here are a few examples:
► Teeth Whitening — This is one of the simplest services we offer. As we get older, as we drink more coffee and tea, we are adding to the stains on our teeth.
Cleaning up those stains can make our teeth look whiter, brighter, and healthier.
► Veneers — Veneers are another relatively simple technique for improving your smile. Veneers can be bonded to the front of your teeth to give you the smile of your dreams.
In a few visits to our office, your smile can look straighter, whiter, and perfectly spaced.
► Onlays — Onlays are a special filling for your teeth. If you received fillings when you were younger, there’s a chance you received amalgam fillings. These are made with a mixture of metals like copper, mercury, silver, and tin.
If you would rather have your fillings look like teeth, our porcelain onlays may be the replacement filling that you need.
► Dental implants — If you are missing a tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants can bring back your smile. Implants can be used to support dental crowns, dental bridges, and dentures.
In other words, even if all your teeth are gone, you can still look like you’ve got a complete set of pearly whites.
If you don’t like your teeth, people may never see your smile.
It’s like Bob Ross said, “It’s so important to do something every day that will make you happy.”
